History- Two puppies were left in a yard in a neighborhood. The homeowner took them to the shelter to see if they had chips - they did not. They hung flyers in hopes of finding the owner but after 2 weeks they realized they could no longer keep them. So they set up at a store to sell them. One of our volunteers just happened to be walking by and asked if they would consider surrendering to rescue. There were a few other people looking at them but one man was asking if they would get large enough to be guard dogs- he already had dog houses to tie them up to (so she freaked out as that is no life for any dog) and paid the lady for them both. So now we have Pixie and Trixie who are looking for their happily ever afters.. Temperament- Very playful, love attention, and love everyone. Energy Level- Typical high puppy energy Dogs/Cats- They love the cats in their room, but still too small to meet the other dogs.. Housetrained- They are currently in an x-pen with puppy pads These little girls are too cute. They play nonstop but also love to cuddle and be held.. We are not sure what their breeds are as we don't have parents but we believe they might be Border Collie X Lab mixes. But again we don't know as we never saw any parents since they were just dumped in a yard. Trixie is a little bigger looks more Lab and Pixie is smaller and looks more like a small Border Collie. Please be aware puppies are a lot of work - they need a lot of training and socialization to grow into well behaved adult members of the family. As puppies they will sometimes mouth/bite and scratch in play. Children should be taught how to be gentle with all animals and to understand that puppies aren't trying to be mean but might accidentally scratch or bite them. If you have a sensitive child/children and wanting to get a pet for them maybe consider an adult that has been around children- they are a lot less work as well. Otherwise there might be a lot of tears and nonsense when the child doesn't understand why the puppy scratched or nipped them. So please be fully aware and do your research if you are considering a puppy. Adoption fee $250 includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need.
