About Chance(RM)

Adoption Fee: $50
Catahoula / Foxhound
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Chance Why has no one scooped this boy up yet?! We are heartbroken that Chance is still at our shelter. No one has given this wonderful boy another chance and we don't know why. He's nearly perfect and would make for a terrific family companion. Chance has had a rough go in life, but you wouldn't know it from his demeanor and joy for life. Chance is about a 2.5 years of age and is thought to be a Catahoula Shepherd/Pointer/Lab mix. He's absolutely gorgeous! When we pulled Chance from Animal Control on December 21, 2017, he was truly out of time. Chance had a trifecta of problems working against him - he had been hit by a car and needed medical attention, he was heartworm positive and no one was looking for him. We had to meet this boy. And, we're glad we did. Despite all of his pain he had only tail wags and kisses for us. We knew he needed to be saved and given another chance. So we pulled him out of AC and vowed to give him what he never had before - love, care, shelter and safety. By now we thought he'd be on his way to a forever home, but after being at our shelter for more than a year he's still looking... After undergoing major surgery and heartworm treatment, Chance is fully recovered and super healthy. One would never know what he went through in his early life. Chance is a smart dog and he's eager to please. He was house-trained and will pick it up again when he's back in a house, he super sweet, joyfully active and walks well on a leash. He loves being with people, kids and other dogs, but is not so fond of cats. Chance is a 58 lb. love bug. Come meet Chance today. Maybe his strength of survival combined with his sweet softness will inspire and awe you, just like it does us each and every day. Maybe you'll be his hero who will give Chance a chance at the brass ring and a forever home filled with love and joy.
