About Peanut

5 year old Peanut and her companion Lucy3 came to the shelter as a result of the passing of their owner. Peanut is very confused at the changes in her life. She is a chiweenie who would be more comfortable is provided with weight management program once welcomed into a home. Peantur arrived May 16, 2018. Her adoption fee is $100. The approval process can take from 1 to 3 days and is initiated with submission of an application at the shelter or online at our website: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application. Upon receipt of application, our adoptions coordinator will contact the applicant to answer all questions and discuss needs/requirements specific to the desired dog. Adoption policy and application procedures are detailed at the website under tab All Adoptable Animals. Each shelter resident is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own family members. Adopters who are not within the local area of the shelter MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. Meeting the approved adopters is one of the final steps in the adoption process. We do not permit transport or shipping of our residents without the adopter in attendance. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Resident animals are owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The shelter is not permitted by GA law to accept strays. The facility is usually operating at capacity with a list of animals approved for intake waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
