About Winny

We thought this little guy deserved some royal treatment and a royal name befitting his new found freedom and journey into his new life, and a nod to a wedding we happened to hear about...So we shall call him 'Sir Hairy Windsor Snuffleupagus'. His name at the shelter was Snuffleupagus and looking at his previous condition we can certainly understand why, he does look like a woolly mammoth, poor guy. Winny(as we call him) was in such pain with all of those mats and after being sheered down he is a whole new man. He has the most beautiful mahogany coloring, very unique. Winny was a bit fearful at the shelter and unsure of his surrounding so he came to rescue to settle in and start feeling like himself. At the shelter he was a bit testy, but that happens often. but for that reason we do not recommend he live with small children. We are looking for a dog savvy home that understands he needs time to settle in and figure out his new life. So often a family will be so excited about bringing home their new pal that they want to hug, bathe, cuddle, and introduce him to everyone. But, that is just way to stressful for many dogs and they may behave poorly. Winny will need time and patience to settle in at his pace. He did incredibly well here and we let him move ahead at his own speed, and must say he did way better than we had expected. He LOVES being outside is such a happy and outgoing little guy, does great with the other dogs(does get a bit jealous on occasion) and listens well. Winny enjoys going for walks and snuggling by your side as well. He is about 3-5 years old, maybe a tad on the younger side and around 13 pounds.
