About Marvin

Adoption Fee: 50
Pit Bull mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Marvin is the sweetest, funnest pitbull you will ever meet. But he needs the right setting. We found him hiking in the woods in Montana and I do not know how long he had been in the wild but he was skin and bones ( hencing the name starving marvin). He LOVES being outside in the woods, therefore will need someone with a big chunk of land hopefully with water on it. Marvin LOVES water also, whether it be the Ocean in January or a river in June, or even the kiddie pool we bough him for his birthday last year, this dog is half fish. He is extremely well behaved outdoors, but once on a leash, or in town around other dogs, he turns anxious and aggressive and is an incredibly strong dog. He would do better in a house with someone who has a lot of woods, no other pets as he does not like other dogs, cats, rabbits, etc, and probably no children. He is unaware of his own size and frequently bulldozes our small dog and knocks him down. I've never seen him aggressive with a child, but would worry he over a small one and seriously injure. He is great with kids over 5 though. A wonderful family dog. HOusebroken, comes when called and is very submissive to his owner, but extremely protective also. In the past when he has gotten into the trash all I have to do is give him a stern look and say his name and h e cowers and pees. We are just looking for someone whoe can be a better fit for Marvin. WE are not in a rush to lose him as he is a great dog, I just think long term it would be better for him to have more space and ability to run free. He needs a family that is in very good shape and has free time for him. We both work 1 1/2 jobs each right now so do not have energy every night for walks and walks/excersize are a necessity for him. He has so much energy I one day took him on a 4 mile hike, had him swim up the river against the current playing fetch for about two hours, and he still wanted his evening walk. When i found him I had a regular work schedule and took them hiking and swimming constantly, however life happens and that is no longer my situation, but Marvin deserves better. Please contact me if you feel you can provide a good home for Marvin. THanks
