About Raven

Adoption Fee: $500
Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This is probably one of the absolute hardest things I have ever had to do. I am beginning the search for a new home for my 3 year old black lab Raven. Raven is absolutely an amazing dog and I wish I could do anything to keep her and make it work but I can't anymore, I have really bad anxiety and panic attacks and I am just very overwhelmed by her and I need to do what's best for her and me and that is finding her a more suitable home. I am also getting to a point in my life where I am so busy and I am helping a friend with cancer and I just don't have the time like she needs. I will list some good an bad qualities in a hopes to find Raven the perfect fit and her forever home. Here are the good things about her She is 100% housebroken and doesn't have any accidents at all if taken out. I do morning, around 8 at night and another pee break around 11 before bed and she is great all night. She is kennel trained. She knows how to walk well on leash and will walk in a heel without pulling. She is incredibly smart and picks up new things quickly. She has amazing recall and comes when called. She is great with other dogs and loves going to the dog park. She loves to play fetch, frisbee, swim and hike and would be an amazing running partner. She has had a lot of training and would easily be able to be trained to retrieve birds if you wanted a hunting companion. She is 100% current on all of her shots, is spayed, Micro chipped, has had regularly been wormed, She also has OFA certificates for her hips and elbows and is clear of any defects common with labs and shows no signs of dysplasia. Now for the bad Raven will counter surf and eat anything on the counter so needs to be kenneled when left alone. She will break out of a wire kennel and can never be kept in one. She has to have an airline approved kennel. She cannot be around cats or any animals smaller then herself. She has a drive and even though she has never harmed anything the intention is there and she can't be trusted. She would not do well in a home with small kids. She has a ton of energy and will need a very active home. Raven has a sensitivity to rice so can't have anything with rice and she doesn't tolerate many treats well. I have her on Wholesomes by Sportmix Beef Meal and chick pea formula right now and she is doing amazing on this food and I would highly recommend keeping her on it. I get it on Chewy.com. She will need a very dominant handler. She will also need to hopefully be placed in a very Lab experienced home. She has also been trained with an electric training collar and responds really well with this. Raven really is an amazing dog and I am so sad that I can no longer be what she needs but I am making the decision for both of us as hard as it is I want her to be happy. Raven will go to her new home with her kennel, leash and collar, her bed, her dog food and all of her vet paperwork. I will be asking an adoption fee for her to cover the cost of her vetting, supplies and the time invested in her training. If you are interested in Raven and she sounds like a good fit please feel free to call or text me. I look forward to speaking with her new forever person soon. Cheers to you in your search for a new family member.
