About Helios

Helios is a very special little gelding, foaled April 2012. He is all the makings for a spectacular liberty partner! Very attentive, sensitive, and spirited. He is a very sweet little pony with refined face and features, and will come with his foal papers. I'm not familiar with ASPC, but if someone was to update his papers, he'd make a robust and flashy show pony! Helios has his feet trimmed 4/30, and was dewormed 5/02. Gets regular psyllium. He is on an orchardgrass diet with some grazing. I've had him for two years, and just this month for the first time he was acting studdy with my mares in heat, and trying to boss around my gelding (all are full sized horses), so he has been separated. Usually, he's happiest and most relaxed in a herd setting. I'm rehoming due to needing to downsize for personal health reasons. He has never offered to bite or kick. No known health or lameness cocnerns. Last full vet exam at Alamo Pintado October 2017. Needs a partner who will enjoy life with him. His sensitivity and spunk are such rewarding parts about working with him, but makes him not suitable for handlers who have a strict agenda, are rough or insensitive, overly passive, nervous, or inexperienced. He would do great in advanced liberty training, natural horsemanship, even possibly equine assisted psychotherapy in the right, small program. He is not a kids pony. He is not broke under saddle or to cart. Helios is a heart driven pony who will fulfill and impress a patient, balanced leader.
