About Amargo

Me and my Shadow! Amargo is a lovebug who will be your shadow if you give him a chance. This little black as midnight Chihuahua is 3 years old and weighs a slender 9 pounds, has delicate paws and huge amber colored eyes. Amargo came to us from a high kill shelter where he had been owner surrendered. We were so glad to give him his freedom ride! Amargo got his nickname Shadow from his all time favorite thing which is to be next to his person. He longs to be cuddled and to simply stay close when you are still. Otherwise, he is happy to lie in his open crate or enjoy the company of other pets. He enjoys the company of other dogs, cats, and loves children. Amargo is housetrained but wears a belly band when left alone during work hours. When excited, he may slip a little with his potty training. He is just so happy to see you and to do new things, like going for a ride or playing outside. He is fast! He loves to race from one end of the yard to the other. Once he knows the parameters of his yard, he stays in it obediently. Even so, a fence would be best so he can zoom without worry. He walks just fine with a leash and obeys commands. He loves to sleep with his human companions or to curl up with his doggy friends. When he came to us Amargo was heartworm positive. Since then, he has reached the point where he simply receives his monthly Advantix Multi as a normal preventative. Our rescue will continue to pay for his tests every 6 months until he is negative.
