About Mickey

We rescued Mickey in March 2016, along with her boyfriend Marty, who's also listed on rescue me, and son Simon, who was recently adopted, from a hoarding situation in Blythe, Georgia. His rescuer had good intentions but kept them in tiny, outside kennels in the sand with just a cheap doghouse and a partial tarp for shelter from the elements. They were very isolated, lonely, unsocialized, and afraid of thunderstorms, loud noises, and nobody there to comfort them. It was heartbreaking to see but we knew that once we got them out of that environment and into a better situation they would thrive, and we were right. Mickey is very loving, affectionate, friendly, playful, and loves to give kisses and cuddle. She will melt your heart with her soft, doe-like eyes. When we rescued her she was nursing her second litter of puppies, who all ended up going into a rescue and found homes. We thought that Mickey finally found her permanent soft place to fall recently when she was adopted together with Marty into a loving family, but it wasn't meant to be. They are splitting up and could no longer keep them. so Mickey, along with Marty, are currently being boarded at a kennel in Augusta, Georgia, where they are loved by everyone and get great care - but they both need a permanent home or a foster home! In a perfect world they would be adopted together but we realize that may not happen, so Mickey can either be adopted with Marty or separate. We will not give up on finding her a wonderful home. This special girl has so much love to give and has been through so much - she's looking for her special person or family - she deserves that - could it be you?
