About Salome

Black Mouth Cur
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

We rescued Salome when she was a puppy (10 weeks old). We were told she was a mix between a lab and a shepherd thinking that would be a smart but chill mix for the city. Turns out she is a ladner black mouth cur who loves to chase squirrels and birds. She plays well with other dogs while under supervision of her trainer which she has had off and on for her 4 years of life. We have 5 children and 1 grand child in our home. She is good with our children inside the home (occasionally may bump the grandchild when running past her). Salome is a great dog in so many ways, but she is agitated on leash by bikers, skateboarders, lawnmowers. She has been unpredictably aggressive to them. So we are looking for a home in the country where she can 'work', run hard, and chase squirrels, and not have to live her life on a leash. We live in the city and have to put her on a leash on a dog run to use the bathroom. We think this is not a good fit for her personality/breed. We don't have any official papers for her breed, but think she is a pure breed ladner black mouth cur.
