About Nikki

Nikki is a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier Mix, weighs 20lbs. She was rescued running along a busy highway in Dallas and has settled in well at her foster home. Nikki is high energy and loves running around and playing. She's very fast and needs a fenced in yard. She is also a herder, whether other pets or people. Once she determines you are part of her herd, she gets along well with everyone. Part of that herding instinct also means that she nips ankles. Nikki would be great with agility training! She needs a job and is incredibly smart, learning quickly. She has gotten better on a leash - she requires a harness because she tends to pull, as she is fascinated by smells and sounds. She will bark at people when walking around but once they are close she is not aggressive. She takes some warming up to as she can get overstimulated. Agility activities would focus her energy and intelligence. The more exercise she gets, the happier she is. Nicki loves to cuddle and instantly warms up to people who show her affection. She would do best in a quiet home with no young children, as she can sometimes get overwhelmed by too many people. She is up to date on her shots, spayed, has a microchip, and is 100% house trained. She was so very timid and fearful at first, and has made a miraculous turnaround to the sweet girl she is today. She is still very young, and she is very smart. In a home where she can get exercise, structure, attention, and a lot of love and patience, she will be a great family member.
