Captain Jack Needs a Loving Home 6-month old, male, black German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Yes Good with children: Older only Good with cats: Unknown We'd like to introduce you to the adorable Captain Jack. Jack and his mother Pearl were out roaming the desert when they were spotted by some concerned citizens. Luckily, they were able to pick up Jack and we cleaned him up and got him to the vet. Jack's left eye had some damage and we weren't sure whether it could be saved. Several weeks and a surgery later, Jack is much happier without his left eye. He is still coming out of his shell and is very slow to trust people. He will need a home with a loving family who can be patient and help him learn to trust. But missing an eye won't slow this little guy down one bit. He loves to play with his kennel mate, Kooper, and seems to be OK with other calm, nice dogs. We recommend older children as he's still pretty skiddish, and he'll need stability and structure to blossom. We think he would do best in a home with nother dog who is confident that can help show him the way. Jack even won the hearts of the staff at the clinic where he had his surgery. They come to visit him weekly and are helping him come out of his shell. The best was his weekly visit with his mom. You should have seem him light up when getting to have play date with her. He's an adorable little guy that will make a wonderful family member with the love, patience and the happy home he needs to thrive. If you'd like to adopt Jack, please complete our online application to get the process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full - time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
