About Sedona-PENDING!

Lab / Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Sedona, at 12 weeks old and approximately 10 lbs (estimated to be full grown at about 35 - 45 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's New Mexico rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this beautiful puppy...they rescued Sedona and her sister just in time. This sweet and engaging Labrador Retriever/ Australian Cattle Dog mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life with every possibility. Sedona is incredibly beautiful...from her gorgeous & cottony-soft white coat with brindle markings (such unique coloring) to her adorable puppy face...a cutie-pie in every way. We're told that these photos in no way do this beautiful puppy justice. We'll update the moment we receive new photos from Sedona's New Mexico foster mom. Since Sedona is just a baby, she's a blank slate waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion - she will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through puppy socialization class followed by positive reinforcement group obedience classes. It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with friendly and engaging behavior. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. Sedona is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age...learning about the world in that very cute way that healthy, well-adjusted puppies do. She will blossom with a family that includes her in many aspects of their lives. The more that Sedona is taken along and included in dog-friendly activities with friends and their dogs, the better behaved, more socialized.. and more excited she will be. Hiking the mountain trails will be perfect for Sedona as she matures..and will provide opportunities to become more social and comfortable with other dogs and their people. We're open to Sedona finding her forever home with very active retirees with lots of energy to train and enjoy a young puppy. She would also be great with a younger family that works out of the home. As a puppy, Sedona is great with children of all ages. We would like to place Sedona only with children with impulse control as tail pulling or awkward handling will lead Sedona to be cautious with kids later on in her life. Sedona will be up to date on her vetting. We're hoping that she will be spayed when she arrives from New Mexico, however a young puppy like Sedona is often deemed too young to fix. If this is the case, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Sedona to be spayed/microchipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation. Sedona is arriving on transport in Denver in mid-May (exact date hasn't been confirmed at this point..will update shortly). Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet puppy. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Sedona, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
