About Ruby

Adoption Fee: $175
Catahoula mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

A big Cajun howdy to you! My name is Ruby, and I'm a loving, 25-pound smart-as-a-whip, brindle-and-white Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog mix gal. I was born about November 2017 and found as a stray with my brother Clyde and sister Daisy. I should weigh 50-90 pounds when I'm full grown, so I'll be a big girl! I just love people and other dogs, but I'm nervous around new people. Fortunately my foster mom is working on building my confidence. My foster home has no cats or kids, so the jury is out how well I'd do with them. Fortunately, I'm still a pup, so early socialization with cats and kids should do the trick. Since I'm so young, I'm attending puppy kindergarten, and I'm currently working on basic obedience, learning commands like 'stay' and 'come,' as well as loose-leash walking. Since my breed is known for it's intelligence, I'm coming right along in my potty training too. In fact, Catahoulas are best matched with people who have experience training intelligent dogs. Catahoula Leopard Dogs are high-energy, athletic dogs who were bred to herd wild boar and cows in the marshes of Louisiana. We need serious exercise that not only gets our bodies moving but also stimulates our minds. We're loyal and attach to our human family quickly, so we need time, attention, and affection from our loved ones. We don't thrive unless we're close to our family, so we must live in the house with them. Being left alone or ignored would be 'the pits' for me. So if you're looking for an affectionate, loyal, and intelligent fido, then I'm the gal for you. Arrange to meet me so I can cover you with puppy kisses! Ruby is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $175 for puppies 9 months old or younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Ruby, and we can arrange for you to meet her.
