About Jake

This big boy is Jake. Jake was rescued from the Critical list at MAS and despite everything this poor guy has been through he is still Mr. Happy.Jake came to me in rough shape. He was heartworm positive, which he has completed treatment for. He was malnourished and missing most of the hair on his back end due to fleas. He has callouses in a few spots, most likely due to being confined in a kennel or crate. He has an injury to his left front foot from when he was younger that was never treated and left to heal on it's own. We think that the injury to his foot was caused by some kind of compression fracture. Jake doesn't let that bother him though. He doesn't usually use that foot to walk but he does use it to balance sometimes. When he was being diagnosed by the vet, this was the least of his worries considering that Jake had already learned to live with his foot in the current condition. Jake has several broken teeth from chewing on who knows what. He hasn't had any problems with them so far,the vet just keeps a check on them for now. Jake loves food, but most of all he wants to be a lap dog. Wherever you go he will be your shadow. He will steal your spot on the couch just to make sure you sit next to him when you return. He likes to go for walks but still needs to work on some leash training. He has learned to give gentle kisses instead of trying to swallow your face. He does fine around older children and teens just because of his size. He doesn't realize how big he is and he will just knock you over trying to be near you.Please give this guy a chance to steal your heart and make him a member of your family. He has the best personality and just wants love and attention.
