About Inkos

I'm looking for a new home for my 3 year old Aussie Inkos that can provide him the attention and space he needs. I rescued him from a high kill shelter in Mississippi two years ago, and the only info they had was that he came from a hoarding situation and several animals were taken from the home after a neighbor saw someone kicking a dog in the yard. Inkos has shown aggression toward humans and dogs on multiple occasions, in each case unprovoked when FIRST MEETING. After several months of working with an aggression specialist, the best she could do was diagnose him with fear-based aggression aka Stranger Danger. With that said, he's a totally relaxed, friendly, happy dog when he is familiar with the circumstances. He is a total cuddle bug who loves to be a lap dog, running around the backyard, doing agility work, and playing with dogs he knows. I love this dog so much, and have worked so hard over the last couple of years to help him adjust. He lives with a 5 year old female yellow lab who he adores and lets boss him around, and has lots of dog friends who he loves to run around and snuggle with. He is aggressive meeting a new dog, but once the first 10 second have passed, he behaves like best friends. I am looking for someone with experience with Australian Shepherds, time to spend with Ink, and ideally land for him to run around freely. He gets lots of exercise but is rarely allowed totally off-leash due to safety concerns. I'm in no rush to rehome him, as I'm really looking for the right person.
