When we arrived much to our surprise the kennels were not empty. The kennels were filled with a total of 42 dogs. The kennel caretaker would arrive at 8 am, feed and water, and then the doors would close and the dogs remained in the dark until the next morning's feeding. Some of the dogs had been sequestered in their same kennels for over 5 years. We also learned of the 'puppies'. These puppies were conceived, born and raised in the same cement and chain link kennels. They had not seen any of the outside world. They were now one year of age. Teddy was one of those puppies. By the first week of October we are proud to announce that thanks to two other rescue organizations the kennels were empty. We brought dozens of those forgotten dogs into our rescue. Teddy is one of five siblings and his mother that came under our care. Teddy's mother and siblings have all been adopted into amazing homes. It's now Teddy's turn. Teddy was extremely timid and frightened. With structure and training Teddy now walks beside people without a leash! Teddy is all heart. He is gentle and ever so charming. Each day Teddy progresses with great promise into his world, once unknown to him. An ideal home for Teddy would be someone who understands what he's suffered and wants to continue his beautiful manifestation.
