About Angel

Adoption Fee: 200.000
Australian Cattle Dog / German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Angel's Background story: She saw her mom get hit by a car and die, then processed to stay by the decaying carcass until a good samaritan stopped and tried to help but couldn't catch the pup. Which then lead to calling Helotes Humane Society & L&S Dog Diggity Rescue down in Texas. They ended up moving the carcass to a nearby ranch and trapped the pup. Eventually she was adopted to a woman with disabilities. She was supposed to train the animal to go into service, however that didn't really happen and was eventually relinquished. ***Condition when received: She had an UTI (urinary tract infection). UTI was also making her not want to eat. Her nails were over grown; anal glands clogged, and only weighed 43lbs for a Small-large dog (emaciated). ***Current condition: She has been treated for a UTI, She has had nails clipped, anal glands squeezed. She is eating again and gaining weight slowly. ***Current Diet: Orijen/raw **Exercise: She needs 30 min DAILY exercise every day with occasional days off. She loves to run, jog, walk, and occasionally I will strap on my roller blades or hook her to the bike and run her. After that, the rest of the day she is super chill - lazy bones. So if you can't provide this, you will need to get a dog walker. ***Personality: She is a sweet soul and loves humans big and small, old and young; she is more than willing to show you her belly for pets. She can be a talker when she needs something and if you won't pay attention or she'll climb into your lap. I like having conversations with her, so cute & funny. She does really well in the car; I make her sit in the back seat so she can sit and put her nose out the window. She is very smart, and sensitive. ***Other animals: Cats unknown, and she does like most dogs but not especially aggressive or ill mannered dogs. With that said I have had a lot of fosters lately and she has helped calm a few unruly pups (her job). Good at catching rats and moles. **Commands: Sit, Lay, down, leave it, cross, up, walk, potty, car, back, bed, wait, inside, play ball, kennel and stay. However she may not do these for you at first because she doesn't know you, so give her time to get adjusted to the new environment and bond with you. Current environment: We have other fosters that she plays with and she goes for exercise at least Once a day besides playing with the other fosters. I feed them separately because her diet is raw food. She also spends alone time on the dog run as to not over tax her and to get her used to being alone. Thanks to this she barely has any anxiety/nervousness anymore. I only kennel her at night even though there is no need as she is really well behaved. She sleeps wherever her bed is. ***If you have any questions or would like an application, please contact me.
