About Hermie

Rottweiler
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Hermie (Harmony) is a typical rottie - she is athletic & energetic but typically calm, barks infrequently and usually for a purpose, is very smart, well trained, and intensely attached to only her person, which is me. Hermie is a big baby (~85 lbs) and lap dog with me. My dogs are my family and this is very difficult for me. I've been a rottie dad for over 20 years now and never imagined I would ever have to rehome one of my pups. Would never consider rehoming her except she and my older female have started becoming aggressive with each other and despite my best efforts over many months, it's getting worse. Both are extremely sweet, friendly with people and most other dogs, and extremely affectionate (with their people - i.e. me and few others). They have been best friends for most of the three years I've had Hermie and even now Hermie is extremely bonded and focused on her 'sister', just that neither will give in to other. I have a 10 month old baby daughter and Hermie has been very gentle, calm, and patient with her (though I keep a very close eye on all of their interactions, as I would with any dog). I will be extremely patient and selective to make sure Hermie goes to the right home (needs to be a good fit for both Hermie and new family). She would be best with a family/person who spends lots of time with her (she is very social and likes company most times) and considers dogs part of the family, has experience with rotties. Ideal new home would have fenced yard and no aggressive or dominant dogs (not sure about cats but don't think it would be ideal).
