We adopted Nalu about a year ago from a shelter in Salt Lake. For the most part, he's a great dog! He follows me everywhere, and wants to be wherever 'mama' is. He's cute and snuggly and is very calm while he's in the house. He's good with adults and most children. He is extremely submissive to my 1 year old, allowing the baby to climb all over him, pull his ears and tail, shove bottles in his mouth, basically he lets him do anything. However, he doesn't get along well with my 5 year old. To the best of my knowledge, there has never been any particular incident to cause the mild aggression to my 5 year old. He gets along well with all of my other children, as well as all other kids that have visited our home. He does have severe animal aggression. We've tried to introduce him to other dogs before, and he lunges for their throats every time. We've recently had to reinforce our vinyl fences because he lunges at them over and over trying to get to the neighbors dogs. His aggression towards the neighbors dogs and our 5 year old has led us to believe that its no longer safe or responsible to keep him in our home. I am absolutely devastated to have to re-home him, but I just can't take a risk with the safety of others. He would do great in a home with no other animals.
