About Ferris

Meet Ferris. Ferris is a 1 year old Italian Greyhound mix. Ferris, or as we call him, Gazoo, is a spunky, playful, sweet, and affectionate (but very sensitive) little guy. Ferris ended up at the sanctuary when he was transferred over from a sister rescue because of his quirky behavior. Ferris did not like men, feared most people, and struggled with being held. Because he is easily anxious, and can become fearful, that lead him to be a bit nippy when frightened. Ferris has come a long way since he arrived at the sanctuary. He welcomes all people, enjoys being held when ready, loves Hugo (Cindy's husband) and has even done great with one of our volunteer's son who is just a toddler. Ferris is very routine oriented and any change or new environment requires an adjustment period. He would do best in a calmer environment with at least one other dog in the home. He is great with cats and dogs of all sizes. He is a playful pup so keep that in mind. We believe Ferris/Gazoo does need a home/person(s) who will be patient with him during transition and even though he did great with our volunteer's son, he would do best in a home with a single older, calm child, or a home with no children at all. He definitely needs a routine; a somewhat active, but calm, home that will continue to expose him slowly to all that is good.
