About India

India is currently fostered in Sunset, LA for our rescue, Ewenity Farm, Herding Dog Haven, which is Florida-based. We are hoping to find a Florida foster or adopter so we can arrange transport to Florida! Hi, my name is India! Thanks to Ewenity, the 4 years I spent in a shelter came to an end! I've been placed with a seasoned foster who has helped me to overcome many hurdles with love and patience! I have come so far from being a former shelter dog. I am loved, cherished and respected. I no longer have to scrap for meals. I no longer have to wait to feel the softness of a bed! I get to give love and receive love always. I spent a long while acclimating to living free with other fosters. I have overcome my need to challenge my way to dominance and protection. I know I will be fed, I know I'll get attention, and I know that I can give kisses and snuggles freely. I do very well with balanced males, especially the ones that like their own space and aren't always in mine. I am OK with very dog-savvy cats that can also respect my space like they want theirs respected. I am not a huge fan of very public places, but I can go on a leash. I just ask that my space by respected from the other four-legged animals I do not know. It takes me a while to like others, but eventually I get it. I love to go for walks. I love to ride in the truck and go places. My foster mom keeps me on a short leash so she can protect me in public places. I don't like others in my face or tail. I do, however, love people! I'll clean your face very well! And I'll cuddle up to you, if you allow me to. I love my beds and toys! I love stuffed animals and won't chew them to smithereens. Now, if it has a squeaker in it, sorry, I'll get that squeaker out and demolish it, but I will treat my stuffies like my babies. I'll carry them around everywhere I go. I don't chew furniture or shoes. I'm not destructive unless it squeaks! I can be trusted to stay by myself for hours! I'm very good for my foster mom! My ideal forever home would be with no other animals so I don't have to stress. But I can go to a well-seasoned adopter with multiple dog handling experience! My foster mom thinks I'm amazing and wants to find the right home for me! Is your home my forever home? India is up-to-date on her vaccines and preventives, and is spayed and heartworm negative.
