About Terry

Adoption Fee: $275
Norwich Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

We have a very special boy to introduce you to. This is Terry, who we believe is a Norwich Terrier. He is about 8 years old and weighs 14 pounds. This poor boy was found as a stray and brought in to the shelter. We were very happy to give him his freedom ride out. He was afraid when brought him to his foster home, and then we realized that sweet Terry is deaf and almost completely blind. How scary it must have been for him to have been lost on the streets for who knows how long, and then taken in to a shelter. Well, we know that there is someone out there that is looking for a special boy just like Terry to love and cherish and give him the wonderful life he is so deserving of. So that's our quest now and we know it won't be long before he'll be in his new forever home. Based on what we've seen, we believe he lived his life as an 'outside dog' and quite possibly was used for breeding. He sure does love being outside. Terry really does need to have a fenced in yard to hang out in and to keep him safe. He has been doing well learning to walk on a leash too. We feel that young children would not be a good fit for him, nor would a home with stairs. Terry is heartworm negative and microchipped. He is doing very good with his housebreaking if he is taken out regularly. He has started to give his foster family signals when he needs to go out by pacing or making noises. Once Terry learns your scent, he will follow you around the house. He's ok with other dogs, but doesn't really interact or play with them. He keeps to himself more than interacting with them. That's certainly understandable if he can't see them well, or even hear them He is living with a cat at his foster home and doesn't mind it all. He likes to lay on the couch with his foster mom.. Terry is a very sweet pup who needs a family that will be patient with him and allow him to come to them at his own pace. Terry's foster family has recently moved and he did very well with the change. He loves his new backyard and actually runs around and wants to play. Do you think that Terry would be a good fit for your family and you could provide him with the nurturing that he needs to blossom in to a wonderful and loving family member? He really just needs to learn what love is about and that he is safe and will never be left alone or abandoned again. If you are the family that Terry is waiting for, please submit an application to be considered to adopt this wonderful boy. We know the rest of his life is going to be the best of his life.
