OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi there! My name is Vancamp. There are a couple of things I need to just get out of the way and tell you. Mainly that I am a blind senior dog. But before you pass over me and turn to look at all the cute cuddly puppies, please keep reading. There are lots of perks that come with adopting a handsome senior dog such as myself. For example, I am completely potty trained. I haven't had one single accident in my foster mom's house where I have been for an entire month and I go potty right away when I am taken outside. I also have really good manners. I get along with humans and other dogs. So basically, a lot of the hard work has already been done for you. And, I'm not full of all thiscrazy puppy energy. Now don't get me wrong, I love to go on walks and follow you around the house, but you don't have to worry about me being destructive. I could go on and on about how old guys like me are the best, but lets get to the real issue. Yes, I'm blind, but that really doesn't affect my quality of life. I have adapted really well in my foster mom's house. I've learned where all the furniture is and how to navigate around it. I get around just fine by using my nose and ears. Sure, sometimes I cut a corner short or miss a step, but who doesn't need a little comic relief in their life? Right? Now that we have all of that out of the way, let me tell you about my hobbies. I love belly rubs, eating treats, and going on walks. My absolute favorite activity is just cuddling with my human. I could do that all day. My foster mommy says that I am the easiest foster she has taken care of. So please give me a chance. I promise I will be a loving new addition to your family. Vancamp is a Male Scottie / Cairn Terrier mix that we estimate to be born around 5/1/2008 and weighs 17 lb PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
