About Diamond

See that cute little face sticking out of that stuffed animal pile? You've just found yourself a true Diamond in the rough! Diamond has a lot of back story in just the year that we've known her. She came to us with her litter of puppies from a house that had an excess of dogs and puppies they could not care for. Once here, she was a bit protective (rightfully so) of her puppies, but still quickly became best buds with many of our staff members and select volunteers. Diamond waited awhile longer after her puppies had been adopted to find her home, but finally found a match! She was adopted and very much loved for a little less than a year, but then some bad luck struck. Her family had to move, and their schedules changed, and they were no longer able to care for her. That's the snapshot story of how she ended up back at DTR with us, where she remains today. Diamond is a petite cutie, weighing in under 40 lbs. She has her own little room at Dog Town, so we think she must be working out while no one is watching. Her goal is to stay trim rather than bulk up, so she's doing low weight, high reps. Her strategy is a wise one when it comes to finding a home, as it makes her an ideal size for just about any situation. Diamond has A LOT of friends, but mostly of the stuffed variety. She would prefer to be an only dog, but INSISTS on going to a home where she can hang with her 'stuffies' (kind of like homies, but non-breathing). Diamond's circle of friends is somewhat exclusive, but only because she gets a tad nervous meeting new people (slight trust issues, maybe due to lack of consistency in her life so far). Her bark is big, but her love is bigger. Once you officially meet her, you are IN. She might even invite you to a stuffie cuddle session if you're lucky. Diamond's new family should understand that she has a bit of anxiety to work through, but the rewards certainly outweigh the trouble.
