** SPECIAL NEEDS BABY ** ** SPECIAL NEEDS BABY ** Hey everyone, My name is Buddy and I am blind. I am a 5 year old yellow lab and I am looking for my forever home. Do you think you can help me find one? I am a special needs baby with a very sad story. You see I was brought into rescue about 6 months ago. Me, Delilah and another dog were left at our house when my owner died. The rest of her family did not like us and didn't care about us so they just left us to fend for ourselves. We were very lucky that a friend of our rescues who found out about us and started to come by to feed us. By the time this nice lady found us and started to come around we were starving really bad. It took her some time but she finally found a place for us at Southern Paws sister rescue and they brought us in. It was evident pretty quickly that I am blind. Delilah had mange and my other friend had Rocky Mountain spotted fever. We were in really bad shape and we were all heartworm positive. I was treated for my heartworms and they are gone now. These nice ladies also took me to a specialist and they said I have a degenerative eye condition that I have had for a long time. Dont let my disability fool you though I get around just fine! I listen to people really closely to find my way around and I can see slight shadows. I sometimes bump into things but as long as you don't move the furniture around I'm pretty good. I am very friendly and love other dogs and people. I like children but because I am blind I feel like it would be best for me to be in a home with older kids or adults only. I have lots of energy still and love to go for hikes and long walks. Maybe I could find someone to go on adventures with!!! I LOVE adventures!! I love to play and to jump around. I could definitely use some training cause I still jump up sometimes like a puppy. I am a grade A snuggler and love to be by your side. I am very sweet and every one that meets me just thinks I'm the best. I recently heard about forever homes and from what I know do them they are just the best. My rescue says that I am safe now and from here on out I will only know love and never be left behind again. I have been through so much in the past year but I know what it is like to love and to be loved and if you take a chance on me I promise you won't be disappointed. Southern Paws is helping me out and trying to find me one of these forever homes up in the North! I heard they have the best homes up there and it's a cool place to be! I would love to get out of this Mississippi heat! I am currently located down south at Southern Paws' sister organization.
