About April

Beautiful April Is Ready to Shine 1 year old, female, German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Unknown Good with children: Unknown Good with cats: Unknown Miss April is a sweet, energetic girl. She's had a rough few months being on restriction after having surgery on her front leg. And it's been hard to keep her restrictedsince she's still got lots of puppy energy. April is such a darling girl. She loves all people and loves attention. She hasn't quite figured out that she's not a lap dog yet, so she does like to climb up for pets and cuddles. She also loves to play ball. During her recovery, her ball was her favorite toy. She will play fetch and give it back to you on command too! Being a young girl, April is full of energy and she will need an active family. We recommend older children as she still likes to jump and could potentially knock little kids over. She will need some training as it seems she's never had any. She does pull on the leash, but with some basic obedience training and plenty of exercise, we're sure she'll grow up to be a fantastic family pet. Because of her restrictions, April hasn't been around many other dogs, so we don't yet know if she's good with them or not. A meet and greet would be a requirement for any other dogs in the home. We also don't know if she's good with cats, but with all that energy, it's likely she'd give chase. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
