About Maxi

German Shepherd mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Goofy Maximus Is Ready for His Family 11-month old, large, male, German Shepherd 'ۢ Good with other dogs: He is best as only dog right now until he has more obedience under his belt. He has been introduced to female large breeds who can push back appropriately, but still wants to herd and be pushy; no small dogs or large breed males 'ۢ Good with children: Older children only 'ۢ Good with cats: no cats; high herding instincts Oh that face! This guy melts the heart of everyone who meets him. He's as handsome as they come, but what a big goofball. Maxi, as he's known by his fan club at the rescue, is so silly and makes us all chuckle. He's fascinated by the smallest, silliest things, like a plastic garbage can. This boy is going to be pretty big, so he will need a strong handler (previous GSD experience required) that will ensure he gets obedience training and socialization to help him learn his doggy manners. He hasn't really had any training, but loves people and definitely wants to please. So with some classes and structure under his belt, we're sure he'll blossom into a well - mannered, loveable big guy. Because of his size, he'll need a home with adults only or older children. He loves to jump on everyone right now. But this guy never met a stranger and loves to be with people. Maxi would thrive in a home with an active family - running, biking, hiking. If you are a fan of dog sports, once his obedience skills are more solid, he can use all his mental and physical energy to do things like agility, rally, tracking, herding - you name it! If you'd like to give Maxi a loving home, please fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full - time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
