About Foxy

Foxy could be that dream come true pup for a family or retirees who love spending their time with a loving and very sweet companion. The Spaniel mixes are a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart, very engaging and fun-loving family dog. Foxy is a gorgeous girl whose coat, once receiving sudsy baths and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement is a great lifelong choice for coat care and longevity) will be cottony-soft and shining with good health. It's impossible to tell in this blurry photo the beauty of Foxy's sweet face and her gorgeous dark eyes that are filled with so much wisdom. We've requested new photos and will update the moment we receive them. Foxy's story is all too common in her suddenly being turned away by the only family she has ever known. It's not unusual for adult dogs to be relinquished when a family decides that a puppy is cuter and much more fun. It's fortunate that our compassionate New Mexico rescuer was contacted...She got in touch with Farfel's Rescue and we immediately accepted this gorgeous girl into our rescue. Foxy, with her sweet and kind attitude, seems to be in the process of leaving behind the neglect and lack of love that made up her earlier life. At 7 - 7.5 years old and about 12 lbs, Foxy is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. This is such a perfect size and weight...Foxy is old enough to have gathered wisdom in her life and to have left babyish behaviors behind while being young enough to have many, many healthy, active years ahead. Foxy is completely house trained, very respectful of her home and quiet and settled in her ways. This is one of the great benefits of adopting an adult dog with a great temperament. The happier Foxy's family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see Foxy in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's learning about being social and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. We don't believe that Foxy would be happy with a family who works full-time outside of the home...she's too sensitive for that arrangement. We're seeking a situation for Foxy where her family either works from home or is retired and interested in spending lots of time with a fuzzy best friend. Foxy would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable pup. Foxy can be a bit frightened by the loud voices and sudden movements of very young kids...it is for this reason that we feel that Foxy would be happiest in either an adult- only home or a home with older, dog-crazy children. Foxy will do well with anyone who's invested in spending lots of time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure....it can be a hike or long walk (she's the perfect size), a visit with friends, or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch - all of this would speak to Foxy's gentle temperament and loving ways. Foxy is arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 5/5/18. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet girl.
