About Summer

Summer is fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Summer is a sweet senior lab mix who found herself in the shelter when her owner passed. She is low energy, gets along with other dogs, but would do fine by herself. She likes to go for walks, will chase a ball, but mostly likes to stay by your side. She would be a great dog for a senior couple or someone who just wants a loving companion to have around. Summer is a bit overweight at 65 pounds and we are working on taking 15 lbs off. She listens well, knows basic commands, and is housetrained and crate trained. Summer is looking for that person who will take her to the beach for long walks to sit and watch the sunset, or go for short hikes in the woods. She walks great on a leash and loves to ride in the car. Anyone out there for this sweet girl? As a senior, Summer's standard adoption donation is $250, but $150 for a senior adopter 65+ through our Seniors for Seniors program. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative. We are a foster-based rescue organization with foster homes throughout the state of Florida. We predominantly save dogs from municipal shelters throughout the Southeastern U.S. Our rescue dogs live in foster homes - there is no central facility.
