About Rosie

Pit Bull mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Rosie From one of the worst situations our rescue has ever seen, Rosie was found in an abandoned home bleeding from open wounds and tied with an electrical cord around her neck. She had been bred several times and was going to be used as a bait dog. Other dogs found at this home were alive but in bad condition, some were deceased, and in the middle of this horrific scene, we found sweet Rosie. This girl has been through so much but, surprisingly, is not afraid of humans and is very loyal and loving to her foster family. Rosie is the funniest, sweetest girl, and loves snuggling on the couch with her humans. She is playful, active, and likes to go on walks, walking well on a harness. She gets along great with other dogs but does play very hard with them, wearing them and herself out, resulting in long naps for everybody! Rosie is gentle with cats. In fact, her best friend and crate mate is a cat named Annabelle. She has the cutest wiggle when she is excited and is very vocal, making all kinds of noises by grunting emphatically, which is her cute way of communicating. She is also the loudest snorer you will ever hear. Rosie is very food motivated, looks to her human for approval, and is working on basic commands like 'sit' and 'laydown'. She is crate trained and very comfortable staying in it at night and for several hours during the day. She is learning social graces and has made great strides, but needs her human to work with her regarding personal space, basic commands and socialization skills. Rosie is heartworm positive and is currently being treated. FSCA will work with her adopter to ensure that her heartworm treatments are covered financially. She has so much love to give and we are looking for that special someone to give her a forever home and be as loyal to her as she will be to them. Rosie loves children, but because she is 70 pounds and very playful, we require her to be in a home with older children. We also require her to be an inside dog when temperatures are below 65 degrees, since she has thin fur and gets cold very easily. Won't you open your heart to Rosie?
