About Atticus

Please note that Atticus is a Spanish Water Dog but that breed was not listed as an option** Party animal looking for new digs!! Atticus is a few years old and spent several months in training learning how to be a gentleman in public. He's a pure bred Spanish Waterdog who's good with other dogs and people. Sometimes, even though Atticus loves attention (as you can tell by the photos) he gets a little overwhelmed and can nip, so he's looking for a new place to land without kids who can cramp his style. His favorite activities include rough housing with the gang, playing fetch, and eating. He's a speed racer when he wants to be and a sensitive snuggler too (but don't let that get out, it may ruin his reputation). His ideal home would be a place where he can run, maybe with another canine companion since he loves all the dogs here, and where his new found family would like to continue challenging him with obedience or another fun outlet. Atticus can walk on a loose leash, heel, sit, down, stay and come. He has been trained both on leash and off, however, his new owner would need to work with him extensively before letting him off leash due to his history of nipping from time to time. Atticus has been out in public working for several months as it was hoped by his owner that he could be a service dog, however, the nipping behavior/Attiucs's temperament was not suited for that type of work. There are times he just gets a little too overwhelmed, although he's been a regular on Bourbon St. Atticus is healthy and UTD on shots, heart worm negative, and neutered.
