MEET DIXIE.... This gorgeous 3 yr old girl was waltzed into the shelter by her owners. THEN they began to look in the kennels for a younger dog to adopt.. People never cease to amaze me and this story will be a reminder of why we do what we do .... This dog did not deserve to die and we made sure of that. They wanted a guard dog and she is certainly not that. She is a gentle giant at 82lbs. She is tender hearted. She loves other dogs and is very mannerly. Walks like a charm on a leash. She is spayed, utd on vaccines and ready for a lifetime of love. The prveious owners have a history of this type action so we just could not let her be another statistics for their craziness...
