About Doc McMurphy

Meet Doc McMurphy (or Murphy for short). Murphy came to us from a rural shelter system. Murphy is around 5 to 7 years old and a pittie mix. He is blind and heartworm positive. A passionate volunteer/foster saw Murphy and just couldn't ignore him. She contacted us and we of course said we would help him. Murphy is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He is available for a foster to adopt. Adoption would not be final until he has completed treatment and cleared by our vet. Here's what we know about Murphy. Being blind does not slow him down. He is truly a sweetheart who loves to snuggle or just hang out near you. He is very smart. He is dependent on his people to help guide him. Because he is blind he would do best in a home that keeps furniture where it is. Changes could cause him to bump into things. He is very quick to learn his surroundings. He has such a happy go lucky personality and everyone who meets him falls in love with his patient and loving demeanor. Murphy loves to just hang out and chill. He is in a foster home where he is left alone in the house for an 8 hour work day and he does well. Anything longer than that and he might have an accident. He does great in his crate. He has done well with all dogs and cats he has met. He would do best with calm kids that know how to respect dogs and won't rush up to him. He absolutely loves squeaky toys. If he hears one and doesn't have it he will whine until it is given to him :) Murphy really is a sweet boy who just needs a loving, forever home. You won't be disappointed when you meet this handsome fella. Murphy is undergoing heartworm treatment and can be officially adopted when that is completed and he is in the clear.
