About Maddie

Maddie for Adoption Maddie is a 3 year old Pitt Bull Terrier mix available for adoption. Although she has had a rough life after being used for breeding 3 times and needing to recover from heart worm, she is a true survivor. Maddie (meaning strength of war) was recently given a behavioral assessment due to a negative experience she went through right before she was surrendered to Rescue Paws 4 Furry Hearts. She was found to be amazing with all people with NO food or toy aggression, she can be quite playful and is highly intelligent. She is fine around dogs as long as they are not in direct contact with her, but is anxious and uptight when they directly approach her. Maddie would do BEST in a home where she is the only dog and she is also indifferent to cats. Her people skills are so remarkable that she would be an amazing Therapy dog for either visiting hospitals or for a child with autism or someone needing extra emotional support. Maddie's adoption fee of $250 includes all her vaccinations, her microchip, spay surgery and 2 weeks of day camp training (for 2 hours daily) at Applause your Paws Training Facility in Miami. She will be starting her training on 7/26. Her training will prepare her to pass the Canine Good Citizen test and if there is a desire to make her a Therapy dog this will help prepare her for that exam as well. Maddie is an amazing dog that deserves to go to the MOST amazing home!
