About Themba

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi there, I'm Themba. My foster mom tells me my name means 'hope' because she has so much hope for my future! The first few years of life have not been easy on me�'�| I've spent a lot of time in shelters, and at a veterinary school where they practiced medicine on me and let me get pretty skinny. But I can feel life is turning around and my spirit is strong! I've only been with my fo ster mom for a couple days but she can already see my personality transforming. I was pretty terrified after so many icky adventures but some patient love, cuddles and good food are helping me mend. Foster mom says I'm great on walks (even though I tire quickly because my energy isn't all the way back yet) and I even like meeting other dogs along the way. She's never even heard me bark and after a good walk, I sleep through the whole night (the cuddles help). Did I mention I have the cutest little under-bite with a pouty lip that might just melt your heart? Well, at least I hope it does. And I hope you'll consider choosing me, and giving me a new shot at life with a loving family, warm bed, and happy belly. Until then, I'll keep hoping, like my foster mom taught me to! Themba is a male Boxer/ Boston Terrier Mix and is about 5 years old and weighs 25 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
