About Scott

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

'Great Scott!' you'll say as this little Rat Terrier mix wows you with his athletic ability, friendliness, and snuggles. About 2 years old and 14 lbs., Scott is looking for a home that is as active as he is! Scott loves going for walks, running around the yard hunting vermin, and playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He is house-trained and crate trained, but he is not fond of the crate and will bark intermittently when placed there. Scott needs a securely fenced yard in his forever home as he can be quite determined to follow his nose. And since he likes the company of other dogs, he should also have at least one other dog as a companion. As energetic and playful as he is, Scott does have his limits, and he needs for his boundaries to be respected. Because very young children lack the experience and self-control to recognize and respect a dog's boundaries, Scott should not go to a home with little kids. One great quality about this boy is that as much as he loves to run and play, he also knows how to enjoy a nap. Both you and Scott will relish the time spent relaxing on the couch together. You'll also appreciate that he's very treat motivated, so he's easy to train. He has already mastered 'sit,' and he walks nicely on a leash. Scott has visited the local farmers market and the pet store, and he did very well with dog introductions in both places. No barking at all! So whether you're looking for a running/hiking partner, a potential agility dog who likes to snuggle, or a buddy for those times you want to be out and about, Scott has all the makings of becoming your perfect companion.
