CHARLIE - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW: Meet Charlie - a 35 lb. mini Australian Shepherd with a BIG personality! At only a year old, he has a lot of energy and loves playing with other dogs, hiking, swimming (his favorite!), playing fetch, and would be a great candidate for dog sports like agility, lure coursing, or dock diving. He prefers to be with his person and his fur siblings, and enjoys stealing and hiding your socks every so often to keep you on your toes! Once he bonds with you, he is a huge cuddle bug. Charlie is strong-willed and needs a confident and experienced handler that can continue his obedience and socialization training. He has made leaps and bounds of improvements while in rescue, but he will still need regular refreshers. He is wary of strangers and needs some time to warm up to them before being loved on - but once he does, he loves the attention! He is an extremely smart boy that seeks to please his person. He does need a doggy playmate, and does best in a home with a friendly, confident, well-balanced dog. Charlie is not suited for a home with children or with cats, or in an apartment. He is crate-trained, very well potty trained, up to date of vaccines, neutered, microchipped, HW-, and on HW and flea preventatives. He knows basic obedience such as sit, down, wait, touch, target, leave it, and watch me. He is being fostered in the Austin area and is available for adoption in Texas only at this time.
