About Magnum

Adoption Fee: $300.00
Rottweiler
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

3 year old Rottweiler. Magnum is a LARGE SPECIAL NEEDS dog! We have set a re-homing fee of $300 to hopefully ensure he goes to a good home.%BD'%BD%BD We got him from a private owner who neglected and failed to take care of Magnum. When we got him, we found out he had Lyme's disease, Whip worms, mild hip dysplasia in both hips, one of which has been broken before and never treated, and his eyelids were rolled under due to severe allergies that were also left untreated. We have done an allergy test and it came back that he has severe allergies to a lot of different things. He has had Eyelid Entropion on both eyes to correct his eyelids that rolled under. He is on Gravy Train dog food right now because he can't have pretty much everything they put in dog food except beef. He is on twelve 25MG generic allergy pills a day, 6 in the morning and 6 in the evening because we are trying to avoid the damage of long term steroids. I have his medical records of what has been done since we got him. He is micro-chipped as well. Magnum is 135lbs and very energetic. He loves to play with his toys and thinks he's a lapdog (not aware of his giant size, stands about 4-5 feet tall). He gets along with other dogs but he is somewhat territorial when it comes to his home. I believe that is because his previous owners treated him badly and had 2 other Rottweilers and 2 other small dogs. He went to dog training but wasn't to responsive to that. He does know how to sit, lay down, and shake but only when HE wants to or if you have a treat for him lol. Loves new people but tends to tinkle on their shoes from too much excitement. He is a great dog BUT he needs someone who can give him the love and attention he deserves. Someone who will also love him as much as we do. We have gotten him over the hard part but unfortunately we are just not in a place to afford the long term financial care he needs. We are not posting on Facebook, craigslist, or social media and he will remain with us until we can find a suitable home. We will require an adoption 'contract' to be filled out by his new family.
