About Ellie

Ellie is a female Long Hair Chihuahua born on June 14, 2017. This sweet little girl is deaf. Deaf dogs are not hard to train they just need to be trained in a different way. She will need a family that is willing to take the time to train her with hand movements. Because she is deaf, she will need a physical fence yard or will only be allowed out on a harness and leash. Young children move rapidly in random directions, frequently waving their arms, yelling, crying, or making other faces. To the deaf dog, this body language can be misinterpreted as anger or an attack and for this reason, Ellie will not be adopted to a family with small children. Ellie relies on other dogs in the foster home so she would do best with another small dog in the home. She has been spayed, microchip, bordetella, UTD on shots including rabies and current on flea/heartworm preventative. Since we are 100% foster based rescue, only approved applications will be contacted to set up a meet and greet with the fur baby.
