About Rey

Adoption Fee: $300.00
Border Collie / Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Rey: Age: 1.5-2 yrs old; Sex: Female; Activity Level: Active Companion/Sports; Border Collie/American Mini Aussie; Color: Black/White; Weight 30 lbs; Docked Tail. Rey is a fun loving get up and go gal ready for excursions with cool tricks to keep her mind stimulated. She loves to go for a variety of leashed trail walks, checking out different terrains and popping into different neighborhoods for some fun along an errand run as much as she can fit in throughout the week!! In a conflict or anything too intense she is easy to redirect, wicked smart and yes her new home will want to enrich this in all aspects with Rey:a deep desire to work and have fun! Rey does play with some toys/tugging/flirt pole and stimulating balls that bounce and move keeping her challenged along with trying out agility weave poles in her yard. I have started to test her for Search and Rescue and she really enjoys the work; would be a nice obedience dog or possibly agility or things like this in her environment-changing the stimulation while creating fun challenges; trick classes would be cool too. Even though Rey has a lot of relax settle to her, she has a strong mind must be challenged to be worn out! Rey does well with dogs she has met, she has learned about meeting new dogs on a leash walks and really gets a kick out of running on little dog side of a dog park; great with cats who like dogs; respects her fence boundaries; easy on leash; car rides; at the groomers; she is crate trained. If there was a dog in her prospective home she would love to engage in play with another confidant dog who likes a play mate who jumps over her and has fun climbing trees. What she was missing is a home where she can settle in and be herself, continue socialization, engage in life exploring more, and use her mind as she really wants to think. Rey initial vetting indicates she may have been a working ranch dog as she plays using her herding skills. In fact Rey was just hanging out in the yard with the foster/finders dog in Benders Landing as if all was well and she had belonged for some time in their home. She could be a nice herding dog; she is very bidable for tricks and any training and I think would be a fun dog to continue to teach new things; explore leash walks and continue to be engaged in this new journey she is on. Rey is full vetted, adoption donation $300, application to adopt is requested, we anticipate she would do well with children 8; home with good yard and at least 5 foot fence; break during a work day and depending on the applicant if an out of area applicant would be a potential match best that they come to Houston to meet Rey potentially stay a few days to further the matching process.
