About BEAU

Hi, my name is Beau and right now I'm living in a foster home with a very nice man who takes good care of me and plays with me. I, however, am actively seeking my forever home. My original family had me since I was a puppy but when they could no longer take care of me they dropped me off at the shelter. It was in a small town without a lot of adoption opportunities, so there I sat for over a year. No, it wasn't a lot of fun but I'm grateful to be where I am. Now, if you wouldn't mind taking a few minutes to allow me to tell you about myself I would even be more thankful! I am about a three-year-old Boxer/Staffordshire-Terrier mix. People compliment me on my coat which is a shiny blue-gray color. I also have a bright white chest and white paws I am pretty proud of. People also tell me I'm smart but I think that's just because I'm a good listener and am well behaved. I know commands like 'sit', 'down', and can shake hands with both of my paws. Not at the same time of course! I'll respect your property and will take treats from your hand very gently. If you accidentally drop something on the floor I won't take it unless you give me the okay. I'm not a counter-surfer in the least. And I don't slobber or drool either!!! I really want you to know that I love all humans including tiny ones. I like to have fun playing with everyone but can also play on my own. Just give me some balls or doggie toys to play with and away I go! I absolutely love belly-rubs and consider myself very affectionate. I am fun-loving and don't take myself too seriously. I would be thrilled to find a home with a grassy backyard to run and play in. An apartment probably won't work out. It would also be best if I was the only critter in the home. I'm not a barker but I will be sure to let you know if there's a stranger knocking at your door. I just completed my doggie training class and my teacher said I was an Ace student! I've been getting very good health care and am in excellent condition. I have been fully vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped, and have immaculate, sparkly white teeth. I have had full blood work done with no problems and am grateful for that too! I am about three years old, 60 lbs., and a happy fella. I would love to be a part of your family for years to come. I am house-broken, know how to use a doggie door, and am crate trained. I enjoy carrying my toys around in my mouth and love playing in water. Water coming out of a garden hose? I'm in heaven. It might be fun for me to swim in a pool or a lake too! I will even behave well when taking a bath. I'll sit calmly in the car - love going for rides! I can be active when you want or am happy just to share the couch. When evening comes I will be happy to be your buddy in bed, sleeping quietly through the night.
