Hello, I am writing from the shelter in Cody, Wyoming. We currently have a 1 year old Blue Heeler named Belle. She is kind of a special case for us and we are having a hard time adopting her out. She was stepped on by a horse when she was 6-weeks old and suffered a prolapsed rectum so she doesn't have full control over her bowels. When she is excited or resting she 'leaks' feces. The vet said it could have been repaired at the time, but we didn't get her until she was just under a year old. We have been giving her medication to help solidify her bowel movements, as well as treating her with steroids to help give her some more muscle tone. Another issue that we have with Miss Belle is that she is quite food aggressive. She even tries to bite your hand if you try to take a leash off her. We know because she is so young that she could be worked with, and probably just needs a job.
