About Dakota

Looking for a new home for our pup. She was acquired from a shelter to be trained as a service dog. However she has some traits that would not allow her to become one. Mainly her high prey drive. We have been working on this, and the reason she couldn't be a service dog is also the reason we can't keep her. We have a small farm and aren't willing to put our other small animals at risk. Her name is Dakota and she is possibly a boxer terrier mix. She is high energy and loves to play. She is very affectionate and in the short time we have had her she has been good with our 1 yr old grand daughter. She gets a little anxious when alone so would be good for someone who works at home or is home a lot. She also needs a fenced in yard and would be a great agility dog. She would also be a great hiking or jogging companion. She is not good with chickens or ducks, but has gotten used to our other dogs and tolerates cats. In the short time we have had her we fell in love, but this is just not the best place for her. She has been fixed and had all her shots and is up to date on heart worm and flea treatment. She is also house trained and not destructive when left alone. She will come with some toys, her leash and bowl.
