About TAZ

Please welcome this little tornado of energy to THR! Like the Tasmanian Devil, he's coming for ya! Taz is very young, we're estimating around a year old, he's neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. He's on the smaller side of the husky scale in height and weighs around 45 lbs, with a short to medium coat. Taz is still very puppy-like with little manners and training, meaning he doesn't have much, however he does know how to sit. He wants to know everything that's going on and wants to have everything that he can't have. He is a counter surfer and trash digger. He loves ropes and toys, but also enjoys tearing up a towel or blanket as well. Like we said, an unmannered puppy. He does well in a crate/kennel in the house or in the car and is okay on leash. He is semi house-broken and we're working on that with him. We've noticed that when you grab him to take him outside or redirect him, he'll nervous pee on the spot. He is a bit mouthy but nothing aggressive. Taz cannot be in a home with cats (NO EXCEPTIONS), older kids, preferably teenagers are best, other dogs are okay upon a meet & greet. He has done well with most the dogs at THR but can be too much for some of them as well. Basically he can't sit still and wants to be movin and shakin 24/7! He needs a very active person or family that will take him out consistently to burn his energy. Husky experience is an absolute must for Taz. This guy needs a patient and knowledgable husky owner that will work with him on his manners, training and his socialization. We recommend professional training and if adopted in the Reno/Tahoe area we will pay for a private session with our friends at Ideal Canine to get Taz set up for success! He is an absolute sweetheart who just needs a second chance at being the best husky possible! Again, husky experience is a must! Due to our home check requirement, we adopt out in the Northern California/Northern Nevada areas only (preferably a 250 mile radius).
