About Ady

We found Ady using the Rescue Me website just before she was to be euthanized. We believe she is about two years old. She appears to be a Boxer/Lab mix. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and has already learned a few commands. Despite all she has been through, her kind spirit has never wavered. She is patient, gentle and affectionate with our three year old daughter. Her love for people is evident and boundless. She loves to run and play whenever she can and does well with all the other dogs she's interacted with- both large and small. I have not seen her interact with cats, however. She is intelligent, responds to positive re-enforcement and even to verbal redirection. She is eager to please as well. She is all around a good girl, and would do wonderfully in a family with kids to play with her, or as a companion dog to someone who likes to stay active with her. We intended for her to be my service animal after mine became too old, and to keep her for the rest of her life. But my circumstances drastically changed recently. I have a neuromuscular disease that has been treated for years. The doctors told us a few weeks ago though that the treatment was no longer effective and recommended brain surgery. So we have been overwhelmed with medical appointments, trying new medications and making decisions that will impact my family forever. Therefore, we are desperate to find her a loving home where she can get the attention she deserves and we can focus on my health and family.
