About Care Bear

Adoption Fee: 90
German Shepherd / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Care Bear is a sweet, loving dog who came to PAWS as an owner surrender when they were no longer able to care for her and her sister. She was heartworm positive, but has completed her treatment and now tests negative. However, she will need to be on mandatory HW prevention for the rest of her life. Her personality is best described as playful, friendly, independent, submissive, affectionate, and energetic, but she can also be laid back and a couch potato making her a great, easy-going dog. Care Bear aims to please! She wants to interact with anyone who's around. She loves to play with other animals and people, but her favorite activity is to have her belly rubbed and be loved on. She's moderately active so she'll only need an average amount of daily exercise i.e. walking, hiking, ect. Care Bear travels well in a car and loves to sun bathe. Care Bear is being fostered with three other dogs and is very playful and friendly with all of them. We don't know how she is around cats, but considering her personality, would not foresee any problems with a proper introduction. She's also in a foster home with two small boys, 4 and 5, and she's very friendly and loving with them. Because of her size, she could knock over a small child out of excitement, so supervision with younger children is advised. Care Bear is housebroken, leash trained (still pulls a little), will go in a crate (but doesn't really like it), and knows basic commands. Care Bear would do well with a first time or experienced owner. She's used to being in a multi-pet household so we would recommend a canine companion or opportunities for her to play with other dogs on a regular basis. She would be the sweetest addition to a new family. She's a fun and energetic goofball who loves to snuggle and get smothered with love. Care Bear will return many times over the love any family gives her.
