About Knuckles

Adoption Fee: $200
American Bulldog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

We are told Knuckles is a three year old purebred Olde English Bulldog. This hunk loves humans of all ages, but because of his drive to get toys back in his mouth while playing, we are seeking a home with children no younger than 12 years old. This fellow loves, loves, loves to play with toys and balls, and boy does he grip on to them and hold on for dear life! We have found out Knuckles needs to be the only dog in his forever home (based on his behavior while boarding with our great friends at Churchland K9). Knuckles is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, HW-, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped. He does have slight contact dermatitis, which his doctor at Eagle Harbor called 'mild' and 'commonly seen in this breed'. Churchland K9 has been giving Knuckles medicated oatmeal baths, along with Miconahex Triz spray, and the couple of spots that were flared up are looking great now! We have not had allergy testing done, and are seeking an adopter with the financial ability to maintain his skin condition. (Please see the very end of this post for an explanation of his diagnosis.) Knuckles makes the cutest piggy snorts we've heard in quite some time! He might look to be a petite fellow, but he weighs almost 50 pounds, and he has a lot of playful get up and go, kind of like a bull in a china shop! Knuckles is being fostered by Churchland K9. Please PM us your email address, if you'd like an adoption application! Knuckles' adoption fee is $200. ***Contact dermatitis is a skin rash caused by contact with a certain substance, such as food, fabric, metal, pollen, grass, or a host of other things. Testing does not always provide results that are useful. You could spend hundreds of dollars and have all negative results. A common method of treatment is to limit known factors, and to keep a contact diary and food diary to see what causes it to flare. Then, try eliminating the items known to flare condition. Animal Clinic of Eagle Harbor offers a blood test that we looked into, but his doctor did not think it would be helpful. She said the test could come back showing that he is allergic to 20 different things, but we still wouldn't know which one thing was causing his outbreak to occur.***
