About Ivy Rose

Hi Everyone, Miss Ivy Rose here to tell you a little about myself. I LOVE ATTENTION!!! I am a Black Mouth Cur mix about 3 years old. Have I mentioned I like attention? I have not met a stranger yet that I don't like as long as they give me hugs, kisses, and belly rubs. I get along great with other dogs but not real sure how I do around cats as my Foster Mom does not have cats. My story began in a small rural Shelter in Texas where I was brought in as a very tiny puppy. A Shelter volunteer fell in LOVE with me at first sight and thought I was too young and little to be in a shelter. She took me home and our life began. She loved me VERY much and I loved her too. We had the most perfect life until she lost her job and the house we were living in. We tried living in a car for a short time but that was no life for a dog. She had to move in with relatives but they would not let me come too. They did not like dogs. I ended up back at the same shelter I was in as a puppy. Please don't think to harshly on my owner, she was doing the best she could and she cried and cried as she left me. I was given to another family but that did not work out too well. The husband did not like me and as soon as they found out they were going to have a baby, I was made to stay outside. Now as I mentioned before, I LOVE attention. Since no one was paying attention to me I started jumping the fence. I would be caught and taken back to the house but they didn't really want me. Finally, the Animal Control Officer took me to her house and reached out to Trinity GAP Rescue to help me. Because I was forced to be outside all the times I got Heartworms. It is a disease that is caught when bitten by infected mosquitoes. Trinity Gap Rescue had me treated and I will need to be rechecked in about 6 months. Hopefully, I will be cured as it is not a fun procedure. If for some unlucky reason, the Rescue will have me retreated. I am hoping the third time is a CHARM and I will find my 'FUREVER' home with a family who will love me as much as I will love them. I am house trained, crate trained , and up to date on my vaccines.
