Adoption Fee: $350
German Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Little Heart K9's Lucky 13 #42 MAX (Rescue name Pax) Max is an eight year old, owner surrender, neutered male, German Shepherd dog. Max is currently located in Green Valley, Arizona and seeking his forever home. Max was purchased as an AKC registered puppy, spent most of his life outdoors, and was surrendered because he frequently escaped his yard to visit the neighbors. Max grew up with a female German Shepherd dog, kids, and horses. One of his neighbors loved him dearly, and arranged for his rescue with the owners consent. Max is a very social boy who loves people and wants very much to be near his person. Max is very smart, loyal, strong, and healthy. Max is active, yet calm, he will not jump on you. He has no interest in a game of fetch but has a favorite stuffed animal that he carries around. He likes to play with the water from the garden hose and will occasionally play with a large rock. As with most German Shepherd dogs, Max needs an experienced adopter: someone familiar with the breed, or at minimum with large breed dogs. For someone experienced with German Shepherd dogs, Max will be an easy dog. Max can live with another large breed dog if his adopter is a knowledgeable pack leader. Max is loving the indoor life, soft beds, is housebroken, and healthy. His bear ears are rounded due to fly strikes from growing up outside. Because Max is older, young children are not a good fit for him. Max likes long walks, to wander in his yard, sleep in the shade, and to relax indoors or out with his person. Max would be a good fit for someone who is retired or works from home. Max takes verbal correction well. After adoption a basic obedience class with his adopter will be a helpful bonding process. Max likes to be brushed and brings meaning to the nickname: German Shedder. If dog fur is your pet peeve, Max is not the dog for you. Max doesn't love a nail trim, but will tolerate it. His vaccinations are up-to-date. For a lucky adopter, Max will be a faithful and loyal companion. Max deserves to spend his retirement years indoors and with someone who has his best interest at heart. Absolutely no: small dogs, cats, chickens, young children, or dominant male dogs; Max will bicker with another dominant male dog.
